Chelsea have drafted in children’s charity Barnardo’s to conduct a full review of their modern safeguarding.
However, Wells and her family are disappointed they were not invited to contribute to the external review into Chelsea’s modern safeguarding.
Sportsmail can now also reveal that Chelsea recruited Barnardo’s to review their safeguarding practices, which includes the period where Wells suffered abuse as a Chelsea player.
Earlier this week, it was revealed that Barnardo’s are also carrying out a historic racism review at Chelsea and those who have made allegations have received letters asking for observations.
